Where the steps come from
Every setting name and recovery route in a platform guide comes from that platform’s own help or support pages. General advice on passwords, 2-step verification and phishing follows guidance from UK public bodies such as the National Cyber Security Centre. Each guide lists the pages we used in a “Sources we checked” box with the date we last checked them.
What we do not claim
We describe official guidance; we do not claim to have run our own security tests. Where a page contains a view or recommendation of our own, it is written as an editorial opinion. We do not publish ratings, rankings or reviews of platforms.
Example messages
The scam messages on this site are invented to show common patterns. Names, handles and web addresses in them are made up and use the reserved “.example” domain, so they cannot lead anywhere.
Keeping guides current
Menus and recovery forms change. We re-check guides against their sources regularly and update the “last checked” date when we do. If a step no longer matches what you see, follow the official page linked in the sources box and tell us at [email protected].
Interactive tools
The Armour score, the step checklists, the red-flag highlighter and the recovery wizard all run entirely in your browser. They do not store or transmit your answers.
Independence
No ads, no affiliate links, no paid placements. No company has reviewed or approved any guide before publication.
